Gday,

I have recently bought a BA T with heaps of mods and a auto with all the good gear.

I went for a good 2 hour sunday cruise around town today (no more then quarter throttle cruising) and I then parked up.

About a hour later I jumped back in and took off. It changed from first to second like normal then tried to go from second to third but slighly flared (again just idling away) then clunked into third, and gave me this flashing D on the dash.

I knew this was limp home mode so I pulled over and turned off then tried again. The same thing happened. It tries to go to third but it free revs for a milli second then goes into limp mode which is third anyway. :bangcomputer:

This car has been tuned by CV Performance but I am now in darwin. Can the tuner up here with the flash tuner program hook up and find the fault code.

Or can Ford hook up and check for codes aswell, is it just when changing settings, only the previous tuner (CV) can do?

Cheers.

They can look at fault codes but another tuner can not see CV's tunes them selves.

You will have to stop in at hidden valley ford and get them to check it for you.

72.

and when you are fixed, will I see you on the next NT Cruise

Dont be so sure about that.. There are other tuning solutions for these cars which is not a CAPA product.

True but how many tuners have the software.

No doubt this will change in the next couple years.

I went in today to the tuner and he used a different hand held tester. It cant change settings but can view alot of inputs and show fault codes.

It came up with shift soleniod (3) as an electrical fault.

I will drop the pan and filter tomorrow and check it out. Does any one know which one this is. If I cant find anything wrong with the wiring or connection I recon its the solenoid.

Does anyone know how much one is? Im gussing a ford one will be fine but it makes me wonder how long the others are going to live. This car has had a tough life so it might be worth doing all of them.

For sure mate. Its a silver sedan with GTP wheels and lowered.

Dave at High Tec Tuning. Im pretty sure he is the only flash tuner in darwin too. He has done alot of work on my race car during the set up and tuning so I highly recommened him.

Well I got the solenoid today, only $67. I will fit it tommorow and fingers cross it will be all good again.

I have used him as well, does good work, I am running one of his tunes at the moment.

Just wish there was a XR6T specialist in Darwin.

Good luck with the solenoid, you should be back on the road soon.

All good. I just finished.

I dropped the pan and filter, then I found the 3rd gear solenoid. Its written on the valve body as S 3. All I had to do was unclip the wiring, unbolt with a torques bit allen key, a socket torques bit will not fit so rember that, then remove it, swap it over and reassemble.

I also check all the wiring and it seemed perfect.

I test drove her and gave it a good work out and she hasnt faulted.

Man its good to be back in my T. :fear (5):
