is anyone else having a problem with these disappearing while driving?

I've lost 2 of them now.. and I don't think theyre being nicked.. theyre just coming loose while driving and coming off.

where can replacements be bought? im guessing ford spare parts would charge an arm & a leg for them?

Hmmm, never heard of them flying off while driving, I've definately heard of them being nicked though! You're right, ford will charge you some stupid amount for them, maybe you could try a wheel dealer, like bob jane or something, since they have to supply these sorts of things with "copy" wheels, they might be able to source them for you...

Take them back and try get them under warranty. I heard of someone getting them replaced on BA 18's under warranty.

The centre are made of plastic and the four retaining lugs become brittle and break off.

One of the lugs broke of one of my caps and I was luck enough to have it break whilst I was changing my tyre.

I removed the spreader ring that keeps the lugs pushed out, superglued the lug back on the I reinstalled the spreader ring.

The next thing I did was to put a lump of silicon behind each of the lugs to strengthen the lugs. So far so good.

To replace the missing ones, you may want to try http://www.wheelking.com.au/ and get a price. Wheel King sells genuine Ford and Expensive Daewoo alloy rims with the centre caps.

Good luck.
