Guest Mr Walker Guests Posted 10/01/03 05:27 AM Share Posted 10/01/03 05:27 AM I don't know how they could limit it either but I think there must be a way. The reason I say this is that I find it amazing that the motor can have the exact same amount of torque from 2000 - 4500rpm. People talk about grunty motors having 'flat' torque curves - but they all have a hump or peak of some sort. I believe that 'peak' is being limited, probably due to fact that the 'box isn't up to it.A friend of mine is involved with diesel powered pearling boats and he says that this is possible electronically and they do it on their boats. Yep, l think they can limit it electronically to approximatley 450nm as Dave explained earlier by measuring a series of inputs from the motor. The trick will be working out what is and isnt measured and then modifying the things that aernt for greater power without having to crack the engine management. It would seem that exit exhaust pressure for one isnt measured otherwise peolpe wouldnt have got performance improvements from aftermarket exhausts because the ECU would detect the reduced pressure and wind back the wick. If you are wanting to spend a lot of money bench flow testing new potential replacements, the improvement will not be worth the outlay unless you plan on running a LOT more boost.Run a water spray if you must. Guest Turbo-6 Guests Posted 13/01/03 04:10 AM Share Posted 13/01/03 04:10 AM I had a look at my mates new XR8 today, and it had an aluminium mesh grill fitted by the dealership at Temora. It looked really good.
