Hold it flat to the floor to get the best out of it. Like Al mentioned you can't over-rev them, and also make yourself aware of the existence of the detent on the accelorator pedal. (yes it can handle it) but make sure your motor is hot when you do it...The go do some thread mine on F6UTE and read his comprehensive guide to getting the best outta a straight six.....Blonk ...Was that thread you mentioned by F6 UTE posting "Quick Times ..."
