no, not for the drive line, just better to get the heavy load moving. Mate ive blown 7 boxes in 35ks all from towing (4spd auto). Not sure about the 6sp auto but you will destroy the std clutch too.

did they put that in writing for you?

I would be just as worried as having an accident and the insurance company not covering you if you are towing more than the factory specs

I didn't have to much trouble towing this...
