Hi everyone.

I'm using the standard BOV mod at the moment. I am thinking about getting an after market BOV now because I am after a different sound. Problem now is that I am buying for the sound only not performance, and it's becoming a pain trying to find sound clips and stuff online.

Can someone suggest a site or something to give me a little more direction?

www.youtube.com

Search XR6T.

Personally I reckon running no BOV gives you the best sound :spoton:

Pod/pipe straight off the turbo helps to :spoton:

yours sounds great mate :spoton:

I run no BOV.. it sounds good & as far as I understand.. it's not illegal like a vented BOV is.

It does seem to spool up a bit slower between gear changes though

Can you post a link or something to help explain what you mean? I have tried every variation of factory BOV mods I can think of but I'm not 100% happy with the sound still. I'd be interested to see pics and vids of someone running no BOV at all.

Thanks for the help too guys :beerchug:

mine makes the tutututut sound but as far as I know, it is connected. Started doin it abit after installing boost guage so maybe it isnt on properly. Which means, theres no real 'modding' needed to get the sound

NO BLOW OFF VALVE HURTS YOUR TURBO! Sorry for yelling but this surge is air trying to push your turbo back the other way, not good for longevity, or so I believe...

Your car will have worse response between shifts because the plumback nature of the standard BOV "plumbs" wasted charge air "back" into the intake, reducing the effort of the turbo to spool back up after a gear change.

If you want some noise and close-to-factory response after gear changes, get a "dual port" blow off valve, I have the kompact dual port from turbo smart, it fits in the same spot as the factory unit and sounds pretty good, not to woggy, but you know its there!

Hope this helped, and if anyone thinks I have this all wrong, please let me know!!
