ohh, and the blue sti, full engine rebuilt, bigger this bigger that etc etc, has 350kw at the wheels.. the other two were closer to 250kw at the wheels...

ahh small 4wd cars with power are great!! but personally I'd take a EVO over a STI, based on nothing but looks alone, although the later sti's look the stuff..

You’re lucky you ran up against a slow STi.

At freeway speed there is nothing in it between my STi and F6.

MY00 classic STi 2.5L (250awkw, 1300kg) vs F6 (380rwkw, 1900kg)…. The STi is not even running what you’d call a big turbo.

Off the mark STi is ahead.

Around corners STi is much better, and safer.

We now also have an Evo 8 MR at home (great even stock, brilliant handling)

Anyway, if you want to prove anything go to the drags.

In NSW atm the police won’t need to see much before they decide to impound your car.

Take care.... believe me an accident can happen in the blink of an eye.

An STi tried one on me rolling from about 40 km/h......... the sound alone I made in second was enough for him to leave me alone afterwards - the look on his face? Priceless! :spoton:

But, I would love your Sti Brian........

I'd didn't think evo's or sti's would have much grunt from 80kmh compared to a nice 6 or 8 but a gunmetal evo 8 gave me an awsome run from 70kmh. We both rolled off the lights slowly up to about 70kmh waiting to see who would go first. I thought why not, so back to third and plant the foot. He's seen me go and done the same thing, catching me before I've even got to fourth and slowly gettin in front. Into fifth and he's slowing pulling away, I though bugga this and backed off happy with how the stock T stood up to a twice the price EVO. I gave him the thumbs up at the lights to a job well done.

Good sport, though you need to get an edit so that doesn't happen too often!

I pulled away slowly again reved out 4th hit into 5th slowly and we for another 4 seconds in that gear (you do the math).

OK.

I believe that there's a variable rev limit between 5800 and 6200rpm.

Based on that and assuming stock diff and gears, 4th top is somewhere between 204km/h and 218km/h.

But naturally, you don't want to hit the rev limiter, so you short-shift say @ 180-190km/h.

Of course, another 4 secs in top gear will add to that, but won't get you as fast as 0-100 due to wind resistance and gearing. So my bet is 220-230km/h.

Then again, you're edited, so who knows....

I'm glad you are in WA and were doing this on your private freeway
