After basket ball tonight I was traveling down a road which ends at a T intersection. As I stopped I saw a black subaru wrx fly past. It was black 07 model wrx, STi rims, Sti spoiler, gold STi rims, lowered with a baby bottle hanging out the back. Now I am not saying that this was an STi as I was never behind it very much but it sure was looking like one.I turned onto the road in the same direction and as I drove up the road I found him at a set of lights. As I slowed down to a near stop (rolling in first gear) I noticed that the lights were about to change. I did not jump the lights because I did not want to look like a VN driver trying to flog anyone off every light, so I slowly accelerated at about 2k rmp as the lights went green but he did not launch. We were side by side travelling at 10-20kph when he put his foot down. As he did I followed. Both of us had bad lag due to the slow take off. His tended to spoll up first but as his gear ratios were shorter then mine he hit second as I was hitting boost. He was half a car length in front of me when I hit second and boy, did I hit it hard. Mal wood clutch and Kumho 275 on the rear worked extremely well. If you can imagine a change into 2nd gear with a 2 second wheel spin when still accelerating hard then that's what it was doing. I cant explain it any better. It sounded perfect. Well this took my car half a car length in front of him and as my car was peaking out in 2nd he backed off as he was not gaining any ground. He stayed back for a while then decided to fly past as the lanes formed one lane.I floated behind as we were heading the same way. We were crossing over a bridge to turn onto the onramp to my private "freeway" as the arrow turned red. We both gunned it. He turned like a wrx should, flat and grippy, then I followed. My wale took 6 months life off my tyres as its large ass hung around. Even though his was faster around corners I still thought I had better stile. He took off and I had got stuck behind a car. I caught up 30 seconds later as he was driving at the limit (probably waiting). So I slowed down in 4th next to him at 100kph as he decided to give it another go. If this guy cant have me at low rpm I did not think he had it at this speed. I followed with my foot to the floor and passed him with 100kph to 150kph duration as we both backed of as traffic was coming up.He merged behind me as we were still traveling at 120 and as we passed all the cars he pulled to the side of me and was at my rear quarter as I punched it again in 4th. I pulled away slowly again reved out 4th hit into 5th slowly and we for another 4 seconds in that gear (ou do the math). After that defeat he stayed at my ass until I tuned off at my exit.THE CARS:XR6T '045 speed manual.252rwkwK&N panel filterCentre muffler removed.Mal Woods ClutchKing Springs.Front whiteline swaybarEverything else stockWRX (Possibly STi)loweredLarge exhaust(cant tell anything else)WEATHER:Cold but not to cold. Around 10 degrees Dark and cloudy.Well there it is. Sorry about the length. This is not intended to start a war with our local wrx friends. If I wanted to go fast around corners as if im on rails, I would buy one but after tonight I will not think of selling my car for one.To end, I would like to say that yes, any car with alot of money thrown at it will flog me. And that night, a Blue WRX absolutely handed it to us in Fat Tony's car...After the blue one handed it to us, there was a White STI that handed it to us.. and then to go the hat trick, there was a grey sti which handed it to us.......I'm talking 10+ car lengths.. with the blue wrx..It just so happened all 3 of these cars were tuned by Hi Torque engines in dandy/doveton.. And if anyone knows Dwuane knows he knows his WRX's...Had a good chat with all of them when we pulled over anyways.. Great blokes..Danny
