To all you knowledgeable dyno dudes, what gear should the ZF 6 speed auto be dyno tested in and why? I've heard different opinions and I'm wondering what the correct answer is, if there is one.

Yeh, mine too. I believe the manuals are usually done in 4th, but the ZF auto has mostly been done in 3rd. 4th in the auto is, so I'm told more like an overdrive, hence loads up the motor more than third, so I would have thought that 4th would be a more realistic test of a flat out run. Has anyone had a 4th gear dyno run in the ZF?

Thanks for all your replies guys. Ran up my new tune from Simon (XFT) at Gentech today using 4th gear and managed a bees dick over 400rwkw. I'm very happy with the tune, and it still drives like a stockie until you stick your foot into it.......and then holy snapping duck sh#t it takes off and pulls really strong all the way through to the top end.

Thanks mate. The new curves were run with RPM on the bottom axis. Old curves indicated 206kph from memory.
