They won't work properly hooked up to a variable voltage. The instructions say you need constant 12V, Earth, Ignition (or Acc) and tail lights..Happy that I can get Constant 12V and Earth from the mobile phone socket but where is an easy place to get ignition 12V from (I don't really want to use Acc and have the gauges on with Accesories)? Guest EGOXRT Guests Posted 14/09/08 10:34 AM Share Posted 14/09/08 10:34 AM Get it from the back of the fuse box, from the ignition coil feed.It is the last connector on the back of the fuse box, the one furthest from the drivers door.Look for a red wire with a green stripe there are two, it is the thicker one. Here is a schematic. Guest EGOXRT Guests Posted 15/09/08 08:03 AM Share Posted 15/09/08 08:03 AM Adam that runs from the acc circuit and it doesn't stay active through the starterposition. Some gauges, namely the Autometer electronic type, need a feed that allows power to stay active through the starter position in order to do a calibration otherwise, youwill get false readings. The gauges we're talking about here work fine from the phone plug.
