You know the recent floods over in the UK?

Well my sister in law was telling my wife about her commute in her Vitara 4x4, which went something like this:

Went to drive through underpass under railway line, had standing water so didn't risk it..

Drove up a few more junctions, tried again, this underpass was flooded as well.

This time, though, someone coming the other way decided to give it a go.

Turns out the water was deep - sufficiently deep to leave to car floating helplessly.

So my S-I-L gets her phone out, wife asks, "What , to call the police?"

"Nope, had to get a photo of that before I turned around and went back home!"

Had a bit of an 'up close and personal' with a box curb when I was a P plater in my first winter... Nothing like a big heavy EL fairmont with an LSD and a car load of mates to get you in a bit of strife :stupid:

yeh, no damages yet *touch wood*, but a near miss within a day of having it.

private road looking unbelievably like a southbound freeway, cruising @ around a buck twenty, didn't actually realise that switching the shifter to manual mode dropped it back a gear; so in mind was to drop back one gear, light rain... switched it and dropped another... foot down... traction light going mental... rears try to overtake the fronts, and almost hit a 4WD beside me

only ones ive had are where ive been tired and not paying attention, and even then, theve only been close calls, no hits..

I drive everywhere with the t/c off....and my current rear tyres(zeetek's...235/45/17s, still got sp3000as on front) are bald as feck :) gotta be quick with the old reactions sometimes..
