Are the leather seats different to the cloth? What's all that about?

No problems here as long as there's no sun roof fitted. :beerchug:

Fark me...you're a big bunch of Ozzies.

Remind me to never look for trouble with you guys.

I am only 6'4 and 106kgs :( Beanie off to get some steaks, eggs, potatos and Spaghetti.

I have the same problem, feels like I am sitting higher than I should, tilting the seat rearwards at lowest setting seems to help a little (F6 Tornado with leather)

That we are but your no small bloke your self there beanie! I remember you almost crushing my hand when I met you at the nizpro dyno day :D.

And driving a r32 skyline at 6ft plus was hard, im pretty sure my knee's where on the dash next to the wheel and if it has been a manual forget about it no way I would have been able to change gears with my leg in the way :D

Hi Lads, as the title suggests, im a big Unit, 6'5" and 110kg.

Something which is starting to bother me is the height of the leather seats at their lowest adjustment in my BA turbo. I'd love to be able to drop them a further couple of inches.

It wasnt something I noticed at first, but over time its starting to get to me. The headroom is fantastic, but I feel like I am looking past the Sun visor, rather than well below it, which is compromising visability a little.

anyone discovered a way to get them lower, using other models seat rails, modding etc?

I have sat in a friends BA turbo with standard cloth seats, and they are noticably lower...Less padding, bolstering I suspect.

Cheers for any input.

Gav

Yeah, same here. Didn't notice it at first, but now it annoys me

We had, dare I say it, a VX crummydore before this and it had a brilliant seating position. Never had the seat right back, where normally, when I hop into a car (driving) it's the first thing I do.

I was wondering too if anything could be done to lower it.

I noticed on ebay there is a seat base. I would bid on it if it was near me and and I could pick it up.

Itwould be good to try and modify it. A wrecker won't seperate a seat to sell a base

thanks for the reply's fellas, good to hear I'm not alone.

Most of my height is in my torso (my missus reckons I have an extra vertebrae..lol

I have found having the seat base slider adjusted a little closer to the wheel, and tilting the backrest back a little "habib stylez" helps. although I find my head is directly next to the pillar which creates a bit of a blind spot when changing lanes etc, checking over right shoulder.

Buying a spare seat base from the wreckers or off ebay is a good idea. cut / shunting the rails, putting back together....if done well by a fabricator, would be hard to detect...and you can reinstall the original seat when selling.

I might enquire at FTG how much a leather XR drivers seat goes for.

Speaking of small cars and big guys..My father inlaw races an MR2 GTS turbo...I really want to be able to race with him, but I dont fit in it once I put a helmet on!....the full roll cage doesnt help!...

Cheers Guys.

I'm so happy I have seen this thread, now I feel like I'm normal again :spoton::flick_flex:

I've got a T, with leather and a sunroof and I have a permanent lean to the left so that my head doesn't touch the roof.

I came to the conclusion with my old car (200SX with a sunroof) that I must have a disproportionately larger torso/leg combination than most people.

I'd be very interested to hear how you go - I don't want to have aftermarket seats :buttonit:
