Hi guys, do you think the XR6/XR8 or the FPV models are going to come out with paddle shift auto's anytime soon? It looks like everyone else is doing it so it can't be out of the question.

Hear from you soon!

Yes in about 2015 I'd say. Australia is about 20 years behind the Europeans. Just be thankful we even have the ZF box.

Seriously, I think the FPV's should not only get the paddle shift, but the software that blips the throttle on downshifts and the newer ZF box with stronger gears and higher torque rating.

I would like to see a sequential manual before a flappy paddle auto falcon.

I don't think Expensive Daewoo Commodores ever had Paddles. Anyway if they did have paddles they would be rubbish mated to that gearbox.
I test drove a VZ SV6 crummo before I bought my first N/A XR6 and it had it, don't know if they carried it through on VE though.

Hello Guys,

I have a simracing setup at home, with the ECCI Trackstar steering wheel, and very decent paddles.

Before you go on a giggle-trip, the paddles that ECCI have developed for this wheel, they also sell to a few Nascar-teams - yeah, they're that good.

I have a spare set, and might consider fitting these onto my UTE, should not be too difficult, but I will need to take of the steering wheel to see if it would be possible to do this.

They do sell these paddle-shifters as a kit though, something $300'ish if memory serves, I can't confirm because I am behind a corporate firewall - will post a direct link tonight though, otherwise you can browse their accessories page.

I tried a similar thing with one I had at home, I had a BF FPV steering coloum sitting at home and a games steering wheel like that. I pulled the ZF shifter from the wreck I had and noticed that it's a very basic setup when in sport's/manual shifting mode, completely possible I think but I game up because I broke the padles in a fit of rage after I knocked a stack of vortechs over and that was the first thing I got my hands on.

Biggest issue I see is physically mounting the unit to your coloum.
