01txr Member 861 Member For: 18y 17d Gender: Male Location: QLD Posted 02/08/07 08:31 AM Share Posted 02/08/07 08:31 AM Place your selection in the coresponding Poll.Just curious to how many people have had coil problems as I may have one myself and have heard of alot of other people saying they have had coils fail.What is people's thoughts on the followering.Coils are having short life spans due to being covered up and holding heat build upwhich is shortening their life span.There life span is shortened even more when the engine has been tuned for higher outputs as they run hotter due to the hotter turbo tempeture's.Do you thing if a duct for cool air to enter and a exit hole for the heat to disperse would help prolong the life span.Maybe even set up a PC fan to do it. The only fault I've heard about is that they can short out due to being too close to a metal surface or something like that???
