Bit the bullet and got a copy of vista 64 bit premium home edition. And let me say this software makes one hell of a difference to the way thing run. Graphics have gone through the roof. It can be a bit of a pain at times as you have to go searching for 64 bit drivers and some programs just wont work but it is worth it and I have the 32 bit version on my second hard drive if I get desperate but I wont. I can now run anything at maximum settings and then some. Anyone else using 64 bit and where do you go to get your drivers.,

Any DC processor will run the 64bit Vista.

I run Vista Ultimate 64bit and it runs well. I am however having some fun problems with some older games.

You are aware that 64 bit OS runs most games considerably slower. The drivers still blow chunks. There are a few exceptions. Vista itself, runs games much slower than XP.

My PC is a new P35mb with a 6850 DC processor and 4Gb RAM. I run a 8800 GTX Video card with 768Mb RAM.

I have had heaps of problems with rFactor, Counter strike and BF2. They are all very heavy 3d games and I have narrowed it down to the Nvidia 64 bit drivers. I have also slowed my PC down and this has made it more stable.

I suggest any gamer that wants to go Vista, should get 64bit as you will need it when Direct X 10 comes out.

Personally I should have waited 6 months, but being in IT and running it at work, I figure I should run the latest.

You do know vista has been designed for dx10 and above and is designed for gaming?

But. I have never had a driver issue' it usually doesn't have a problem with 32bit drivers if I cant find the 64bit.

But yeh vista home premium or ultimate = gaming machine's u just need a dual core and at least 2gb of ddr2
