01txr Member 861 Member For: 18y 1m 4d Gender: Male Location: QLD Posted 01/08/07 08:44 AM Share Posted 01/08/07 08:44 AM I have a set of Argo rods and am wanting to know what people have used and what there feedback has been on the pistons of choice and also what rings I should use.However I will not use acl piston's ever again after 3 different engines I know of have all broken the ring lands, and these engines where non blown.keep in mind I will be looking at near to 450rwkw out of this with the lowest boost to achieve it. Ninka Donating Members 1,850 Member For: 22y 1m 26d Gender: Male Location: Perth, WA Posted 04/08/07 03:25 PM Share Posted 04/08/07 03:25 PM I have tried CP pistons, and heard a few cars with them, and if you like a mechanically quiet engine, well I wouldn't use them again My latest engine build use Atomic 'Fat Rods' and Mahle pistons, and though not quite stock sounding, it is pretty close.I have built a 2nd engine for R_UTE, also using Atomic rods and Mahle pistons, and the results are the same, pretty quiet.Pistons are rated just over 100 kw per cylinder (650 kw total, which is 860 hp) so that will suffice for most.Hope this helps Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
