I am going to stay out of this, suffice to say I believe he is probably a good man with values most australians could learn from... The reason we adopt indian and asian doctors is because our fat ass lazy kids couldn't be bothered ardously studying a phenomenaly overwhelming degree such as medicine... They much prefer video games as you can see by the amount of useless IT people we have, apologies to the coupla hundred IT people we have here...

This guy dedicated his life to saving people...

We are paranoid about anyone from another culture simply because the rule of the commonwealth has been about domination not intergration....

I would estimate by the year 2010, half our profesionals in this country will be imported due to the fact we, as white anglo saxon "Aussies" are too f*cking lazy to take on that extra 10 - 30 % our neighbours will just to make a better life for the ones we leave behind.... We are about instant comfort and our children will and are paying the price....

One day our kids and grand kids will be working for haneefs and others with such backgrounds..

I thought we as a civilised race were above stereotyping individuals,

but nup.. Were real aussies hey.... Dont like niggers, wogs, slopes, Ities, curry munchers and the like...

It saddens me to know I live in a simple minded community that I do. We judge these people because they are related to people that may kill people that have the same colour skin as us, when we are in there country needlessly killing their relatives and calling it collateral damage......

You have my respect and admiration Dr. Haneef, and as an Australian I apologise for the humiliation we unjustly bestowed upon you..

Personally I would rather go to an asian doctor than an australian doctor, unless that said doctor is over 55 years old...

I spent 7 hours in the the emergency ward of Auburn Hospital last night and apart from 1 nurse all of the staff where from different backgrounds. What would be the state of our hospitals if these outsiders where not there. The doctor that attended my father was here on a foreign exchange program and he was great.

How could a person who heals actively participate in terrorism?

It is easy to point fingers my fellow forum members but remember the whole nation was built by outsiders.

Getting back to Zaps intentions of this topic... If we kick all of our foreign Doctors etc out of our hospitals and our country who will be left?

A Brazilian fella was shot by over zealous cops in the UK 2 yrs ago due to this terrorism hysteria.

My point is this:

Say Haneef is now a Harrison, a Scotsman here on a working visa. Exactly the same cirumstances. You believe the outcome would be different?

I am quite sure it is based somewhat in ethnicity and perhaps religious belief, If Haneef was a muslim and not a hindu I would say that would have been a major precurser to his demise.....
