ok.. whats the deal with running c16? can it be used with a xr6t that's tuned with 310rwkw on 98 oct..? but not tuned on say 2/3 of a tank c16 & 100oct :roflmbo: .. what will it do? or is it not the right think to do? can this damage the engine? look forward to your advise

I wont hurt your your engine, but u will see NO huge benefit unless its tuned to C16...

And it will destroy your CAT very quickly.... :stirthepot:

C16 is a leaded fuel, and not legal in NSW; not sure about other states. In NSW (officially) I was told that you need an ANDRA licence to get it.

I have not used it, but rather VP109 that is a higher octane unleaded and legal fuel (although C&V banned me from their dyno day for using it).

Martini is another option.

Either way your car should be tuned for the fuel, and probably for most people not worth the trouble.

Just rung the guys @ Rocket, this is what they had to say about purchasing VP fuels.

You will have to have a license (ANDRA, CAMS) to purchase the fuel.

With the leaded fuels, you will also need a logbook, but for unleaded only a license is required.

I think if you buy the leaded fuels, you are restricted to 200 litres a week.

Oh yeah, its about $7 per litre...... a 20litre container costs about $140 for VP109.
