Hi, I'm about to throw a few things into my car, and I'm doing most of the work my self, with alot of help from my Ford Mechanic mates! I'm just wondering if I fit bigger injectors ( Siemens 630cc ) will I be able to drive the car to CV/Autotech and then get it tuned, I don't want to sound like a tight ass, I just figure if I can save a few dollars on install cost, I can afford more parts! I understand that the injectors are twice as big, but I thought that maybe the factory computer, or the flash tuner would be able to work it out enough to limp it to a workshop. Any advice would be a great help, I'm guessing the trip to a tuner will be about 50kays.

Cheers

soon as you change the injectors the car wont even start, untill it gets re-tuned.

If you do this you're gonna have to get it towed to the tuners workshop.

it will run but wont go over 2000rpm popping and heaps of black smoke.

the only reason I started it was cos I wasnt paying attention and flashed in the f tune.

in saying that c&v can install injectors in about 15 minutes, there young guy has it all sussed out I watched him in and out in about 10 mins.

its an easy job and is cheap/mabee even free if u get a tune aswell.

thanks guys, I thought this might be the case, but I figured it was worth a try! I'll just fit everything else and get the boys at CV to do it!

Exactly - can tell you from actual experience.

As per your post above, get them fitted at the shop or get it towed (I had mine towed).

What im going to do is take my flash tuner to the tuner, get him to put in the scails/inputs to run the 630cc injectors, take the flash tuner with me, fit the injectors at home and flash the car, then limp it to the tuner.

Its not I dont trust the tuner its because I didnt become a apprentice/mechanic to pay someone else to do work that I can do and enjoy doing, so if its the same case for you, and you enjoy working on your own car them ask if you can do this.

By the way CV are great blokes and I highy recommend them as one of the best tuner shops around, but theres nothing wrong with working on your own car, as long as you know what you are doing and do it safely and correctly.

I had 968's in my old BA-T and it would run ok on a standard tune. Just don't thrash it.

I don't know how you would go with the 630cc's though, may be a bit too big on a standard tune.

drop your flash tuner off to whoever you want to do the tune, and let them know what mods you plan on putting in... then they can whack in one of their generic tunes to ensure it arrives safely, then they can do the custom tune. Once the mods are done, load the generic tune and drive sedately to your tuners shop for the final touch ups :spoton:

My turbo was running around for ages with Eugene's injectors in on a standard tune.

Wasn't real gutsy but it ran ok.

Those are monster injectors though?

Do it yourself and save the money or do as JimmyXR6T04 said if you have problems.
