Back in the day, Nulon ran a VC commie from Syd to Melb after completely draining the oil. The oil had been treated with their PTFE stuff, and was otherwise 'off the shelf'.

Also, I'll repeat, my EF motor still runs and powers 160rwkw after having been starved of oil; oil that been treated with their PTFE stuff.

It works.

Your easier to read than a book Lawsy as soon as somebody questions your judgment you climb up on your "high horse" and attack the intelligence and integrity of whoever the silly bugger it is that questions your statements you then pidgeon hole the entire forum as being a bunch of backwood sheep herders.

It's also like shooting fish in a barrel with you..... :roflmbo:

Wanders off to wait for another 15 pages speal to be shotdown with one line...

But, what you just said never happened?

I don't get it. You're trying to turn around and just basically reword what I was saying you just did... And I wrote 2 posts ago 'minority' in regards to people like yourself, I didn't say the whole forum. 90% of the members aren't negative naysayers, simply because they have nothing better to do.

I'll just leave it at that, I've been dragged into arguing over the internet through simply trying to help.

Oh well, I'll just smile and walk away and reply to the people who have something constructive to post.

Cheers

[EDIT] Infact I'd really love to see how BCL is doing, so I've had enough of this thread for today.

And to anyone else reading, please see that I simply wanted to help, no harm or sales intended, even if it came over that way. I honestly was tired and also fairly enthusiastic about sharing. Maybe those 2 things aren't a good mix. heh

Well done Lawsy, I agree with you 100% buddy.... If anyone doesn't like It don't read it,

I used the nulon oil for 20K, for a little test I have now used Royal Purple for about 18K , The nulon stuff IMO is by far the better, My oil temp gauge used to hardly fluctuate with nulon in all conditions 160- 190F, Now now with the Royal Thurple its seen up to 210 F, engine is also a little noisier , Plus the nulon oils a better value for money and are Aussie made...

Hey Dags, Zap suggested earlier today in the photo blocker thread that FatBAt was on his high horse.

Does everyone have thier own high horse around here or is there a communal high horse I can climb on?

Well My boss when I was a mechanic was the first spare parts place to sell Nulon. He swore by the stuff. He insisted that we put it in every car's gearbox/motor and diff. We only had great results. That was 20 years ago, before Nulon had a name. The owner of Nulon used to deliver it to us in the back of his car.

We ran it in our XU1 Sports Sedan racecar. We ran 3 full seasons (9 rounds each season) without a single motor, diff or gearbox failure, with Nulon used.

I was suitably impressed by this result alone, but the continual clients calling us up telling us that gearboxes shifted better, diffs were quiter and motors seemed smoother.

People should look at this thread as a testamony of a great AUSTRALIAN product.

Thanks Lawsy. I used nulon for over 350000 km in my old hilux which I used as a courier vehicle. When I sold it The 4engine was running like a dream.

As for those who think additives are a waste of money (You may be right) then why dont you buy the cheapest oil you can get?

Guys - there is little doubt that the addition of special boundary and solid lubricants have significant merit. These have been well documented numerous times in the Tribology & Lubrication Technology (TLT) journal.

I think the specific reference to one brand appears to be the issue here. There are a number of other companies who offer lubricants with PTFE additive. So a word of advice for you Lawsy from a qualified engineer who has made a career out of independent product reviews; keep the technical stuff generic mate, it helps maintain your credibility and avoids the perception that you're giving free plugs...

Out of interest there is a US patent for a spin-on oil filter that introduces colloidal suspension containing PTFE particles as an alternative to the pre-mix with the oil.

Cheers,

Benno

Simply because the cheaper oil hasn't been as well engineered as the more expensive ones. READ: They don't contain the same additives and detergants that do the job.

My argument is if you purchase a well engineered Oil/Fluid in the first place, why waste money adding more additives. Drop your oil and filter every 5k km's and you wont have any problems.
