might seem overkill, until you start doing it and seeing how much crapola builds up in the filter and how quickly it degrades performance.

Ive just bought mine from Supercheap, Ryco brand. Some people have said they leak, though mine never have (replaced it 3 times). Some people go for Motorcraft from Fraud.

GUYS I BOUGHT THE RYCO FUEL FILTER TODAY AND ALOT OF YOU HAVE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEM LEAKING, ITS AN EASY FIX JUST USE SOME TEFLON TAPE ON THE THREADS AND SHE WONT LEAK =], ALOT BETTER THAT FORKING OUT THE EXTRA COIN FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NO BETTER!!!

The filters seal on the flare/taper on the end of the pipe and inside the filter. Not the threads I would seriously recommend NOT using teflon tape on any fuel system as petrol turns the teflon tape into mush. If any of this mush on the post fitler side of the fuel system make its way into an injector and blocks or partially blocks it your in for a world of pain......

Just finished doing mine now,, took about an hour but the start was being an asshole and the car was only jacked up enough for me to just squeeze under it.. Not too sure if mines been changed or not in the 101,000k's its done,, but when all finished I took it for a drive and felt more responsive and more go go.. dunno if it was just me or it actually made a difference.. I went for the Ryco and has no issues with leaks,, all you need to do is screw it up then push the lines into it and tighten.. took a few pics of the fuel that came out,, was all little black bits in it and the fuel was black..

anyone tell if this is the OG filter?

Looks like a genuine filter, not sure about it being the original one though

Well the nuts were tight AS. Good thing the old man had his special power grip toothed pliers...I'd have rounded the nuts for sure!!

out with the old

Backwash from the filter...I hope! hahaha...didn't check the direction when I was pouring it out.

In with the new!

Car seems to be making the Tuutututu sound now when backing off in 2nd gear WOT at 80-100...maybe I never noticed it before but I've had her a year and only heard that sound once about 4 months ago, now it's consistent. I can't see any reason the fuel delivery would affect this??
