9.  This is probably a getting use to it thing but downchanging more than one gear at the auto box sometimes didn't register the double change and I found myself having to try and change again.

the gearbox wont let you down change until it is going to be a pre set amount of revs and km/h when its in the next gear. Can be frustrating. If you still think it is later on when your used to the rest of the car then this tell me you should have bought the manual!!! Like me.

The ride on these cars is great. I had a fairmont before and the ride is better in the XR!!!!

have many of you found this wrong with the cars? I have a list but they are generally small things.

I'll be definitely getting the manual when I purchase. I'd just read so many reviews that the manual wasn't the greatest that I wanted to test drive it for myself. Instead, I test drove the auto and decided that it's not for me.

The revs thing definitely explains the downshift not working as I thought it would - it mainly happened when trying to double shift down.

About the only thing that I don't like at the moment are some of the carpet quality - particularly in the boot (I think they could have done better) and if you fold the rear seats down you'll find that the finish could be better there too. However, having said that for the price and performance there's nothing that compares and I'd be more than happy to live with it.

Found the steering wheel a bit fat as well. The 200SX's steering wheel isn't as thick but it's probably just a matter of getting use to it.

The only other thing I think they should have is an option to cover the tissue box compartment in case you don't actually want to have tissues and would prefer it as additional storage.

I went in a testdrive for the new XR6T, was manual. It absolutely will hammer anything out there, but I felt a bit of turbo lag till 2500 maybe?

How does it feel in auto? I mean turn off the TC, and floor it. Does it spin nicely or starts slowly and then guns it??

After the new XR8 news, it still might be a good bang for buck even if compared to the $43000 XR6T.

Max torque kicks in at 2500 RPM so that's when you'll get maximum thrust/acceleration - it just may feel like lag before that before you get to that point because the thrust at 2500-4500 RPM is so linear. Take a stock S15 200SX out for a spin sometime and note the difference between below 3000 RPM and above 3000 RPM - that's lag - and I hear it's worse in the MY02 WRX and STI.

The wheels will still spin if you floor it in the auto. With the TC on and flooring it around a roundabout on a dry road there's a chance of bringing the tail out if you're not careful.

If everyone's comments on additional power with a new exhaust (which can be added for under $3000) are true than the XR6T is better bang for buck - warranty issues aside.

Incidentally, it's not going to kill everything on the road - the MY03 WRX and a host of other cars are faster and more agile but it's an excellent performance package for a family car.

Well I thought i would give my opinion now as to what i think of the XR6 Turbo.

First of all im really happy with the Acid Rush colour, after seeing ford press photos and at the motor show i had second thoughts, when the car was ready for delivery and was parked under showroom lights the colour was awesome.. love it..

Anyway the car drives really good. The sequential gearbox is easy to use and helps you slow down (when you need to) True you dont get full power till around 2500rpm but its all good. The leather interior is fantastic doesnt get too hot in the sun and feels really good (holds your bum in place).

The steering wheel (normal) is really nice to hold, and looks good too. The interior especially the lighting in the night looks fantastic.. especially the way the blue and red looks together. I also like the way the lights fade in and out when you open and close the door.. Pretty Cool i say :)

What i dont like about the car.. mmmm a hard one..

The XR logo on the seat only in red..

The way the car always fogs up and feels hot inside (not sure maybe its the weather) but it always feels warm..

Other then that nothing else..

On a serious note though, the accelerator is in a very low position and I'm still trying to figure out how the hell to heel and toe with it. That would be my only dissatisfaction with it.
