Article did not make a lot of sense to me as a biased F6 owner.

The Force 6 came....

2nd in lap times (XR6T 7th)

2nd for acceleration.. (XR6T 6th)

3rd for Kw ...what you pay for V's what you get.... (XR6T 7th)

1st for Fuel economy (XR6T3rd)

Yet overall ratting is 5th (XR6T 4th)

Perhaps Force 6 was penalised for price premium over Typhoon, and XR6T.

The bit that made me giggle was the car described as the lard arsed XR6T when it first came out in 2002 is now the lightest car of the lot...

the typhoons seem to be getting faster over time. I remember back in 2005 they were about on par with the high 13's to low 14's set by the LS2 clubsports of the time.

Now they are creeping in mid to low 13 second runs. I'm thinking Ford may be up to some Ninja power increases...

So, the T and 6 running less power than the average car, means Ford is playing with them to make them faster?

Yeah, sure, that makes sense :spoton:

95% of the people on this site have either modified their cars or are planning to so taking any notice of these performance "tests" are an absolute waste of time and a pointless exercise in a judgement call.

If you are looking for bang for your buck, being one eyed or not, no-one will deny that the T or F6 or Force 6 (whichever floats your boat) is the car to buy for performance mods and will respond the best with absolute minor $$$ in comparison to a naturally aspirated motor.

Take it with a grain of salt. Just my 2cents also, the Expensive Daewoo cars are definitely "happy" motors. Not one dyno report on LS1.com mentions stock power figures anywhere near what that story claimed (the HSV's are accurate though). Read into that what you will.................

Dont forget guys ... Magazines are all about making money. They are a business and will sway their opinion towards whoever pays for the story.

How accurate do you think these results are. A stock XR6T will hose a stock VE SS. Spend a couple grand and you will hose the HSV boys too ...

In saying that, I went for a ride in an SS when they where first reseased and the handling was very sharp and accurate.

Also don't forget that this same old bias stuff gets trotted out every time there is a test that's not favorable to ford and yet when orion is launched and it's wiping the floor with the VE in the press just like the BA did when it launched and all the ford fans will become strangely silent about perceived bias.

From the Motor Review as a New 07 BF Mk2 XR6T owner I was happy with the 0-100 time

5.8secs is faster that I thought was thinking around 6ish ...

But think like everyone else the lap time was a typo..

with a capa box in 3 secs I could beat any car in the review anyway..

just waithing till the are not detectable as I still have a LOT of warranty to get through...

Would have like to see the F6 in the lineup other than force 6, would have been more interesting..

But the biggest shame is that the I6 line is coming to an end...

That they didn't bother having an XR8 in the Line up says that Ford Australias Best Performers are Aussie Made I6 Turbo'd cars..

Ford Aust should just up the KW for the XR6T and F6's and if we can EASY get a extra 50kw Flywheel increase safely then imagine if FORD would offer a Factory Warranted Flash giving us an extra say 35kw taking the BF XR6T to 280kw for $500 .... and a retune of the ZF auto..

I would happily pay.. :-) and keep my W'tee aswell this would set the cat amoungst the pigeons and would be a real boon for Ford in customer relations..

Would Like to see a 280kw XR6T vs a 270kw VE SS

Bang for Buck.. yeeha.. People who don't care don't spend the $500..

PPL who want bragging rights easy decision..

C'mon ford Got $500 waiting to give to my local dealer for 3seconds work...
