As of 23rd July no more warranty. We won't be able to get any spare parts at all, that's all finished. There'll be no one able to fix our engines cos no one will know anything about them. I think it's all over for us T owners from Monday.

If you find any I6 engines in second hand shops anywhere, snap em up.....

Tongue in Cheek...LOL

Wasn't this actually happening in 2010? I saw the news tonight and everyone was crying over losing their jobs and houses. But I thought they'd get a payout plus keep working till the contract was finished in 2010???? Dunno.

Think we'll be right for many years to come.

yeh but nobody wants to hear that they r losing their job.. even if its 3 years down the track!

Too true SCRIBR. So far this is my 3rd time. 1st time was 4 weeks notice, second time was on the day, that was at Cisco when the dot com bubble burst, 400 in Aus lost their jobs that day, and the 3rd time was 2 years ago, but I got 9 months notice on that one. Every time I was a contractor so NO PAYOUT at all, only 4 weeks pay. ah well, I've been in communications most of my life and there's always work out there for me.

Was very scary for a long time though.

Big thanks to the World class workers at Geelong, please keep up the hard work till the last donk rolls out.

So what do we know about the new donk?

surely there are plenty of aftermarket parts available to keep the

IL6 going.

How long before they actually fully stop producing the

block is the question??... A while yet I would imagine.

2010 is a fair time away ...

With the close of the Geelong 6cyl factory what does that mean for us..

You'd have to have second thought's about purchasing an Orion wouldn't you......600 disgruntled employs putting motors together for new cars.....somebody's bound to drop a screw and/or ciggie butt in a casting somewhere.....

Turds formerly known as Ford.
