I got the N73 too,

Good phone and takes good pics (3.2m) the speaker is real clear compared the 6230 which I had.

Most functions that the N93 or N95 have too except a couple of features

I have the Motorola V6maxx on the Next G network here in Melbourne and it has been fantastic. Never had an issue with it as a phone, takes good pix, use it as a modem to connect to the internet at HSPDA speeds. I got one for my wife as well I was so impressed with it.

Another vote for next G and the motorola. It has been the best phone to date. awesome coverage everywhere I've been ( truckie too remember) and even up home in the hills, it manages coverage where there used to be only a dead area.

only issue has been the mic died in the phone on the weekend, but that happens .

if you want a good camera.. I'd get a nokia n73 or n95..

if you want an even better camera, get a sonyericsson k800i.

nokia still hasnt got a cameraphone that can take better pics than a k800i..

ive owned all 3 and k800i camera kicked butt.

mm bad side with the k800i is alot of them have joystick problems, and they become harder to navigate after 4 or so months... and also the nokia's have way better features like ms office, quick web browser etc.

dont know much about this voip or even what it is really...

but most top model nokias have skype loaded in...... is this what you are talking about??

I use skype on the internet but have not even bothered to try it on the phone

Skype works on a Windows PDA (or Windows phone) that has WiFi. It has to have WiFi, it does not work over a usb connection. It also only works over the PDA speaker.

It is a way of talking from computer to computer, including hand held computers. There is nothing new in this as there are a number of programs including Windows Messenger that do this.

Skype's big trick however is that it can also use computers to cell phones and landlines - sometimes at very attractive prices, say 2.7 cents a minute for an international call to a cell phone... To do this you need to open a Skype account. Not all rates are this attractive and it depends on the country you are calling. So if you have a wifi connection to the internet and a Windows phone you can Skype into other computers. If you also have a Skype account you can Skype out (their term) to the phone networks.

Also, if you have a 3G phone and an appropriate (cheap) data plan, it may well be cheaper to make the call via Skype, using the data connection on your phone... In this instance you simply use your 'phone' as a connection to the internet and run Skype on the phone/computer. I understand that some network providers overseas have software sniffers on the network that detect the Skype protocols and block the call.

Regards,

aa

I just bought a dopod d810 and think its fantastic. It has everything (gps built in, 3G, HSDPA, wifi, 2megpix camera), and being a windows based PDA there is a million and one programs out there you can get for it to do everything. I have one that does 0-100 and 0-400m times using the GPS...
