Tax Return.

if I had not done a tax return last year and I dont owe them, they owe me, am I going to get a fine or can I do 2 this year.

Im in the same boat BFOON I have to do this year and last years tax. Im pretty sure you can do up to three years worth of tax returns without a fine, but I could be wrong that's what I have been told

You can do 2 in the same year.. You get like $50 taken out from the last years for late logdement but that's it...

You will probabally cop a small fine, if you were owing however, it may not be so small.

I did 3 years worth of returns last year.

The ATO owed me refunds for each year and I wasnt fined at all.

You should be OK.

I was getting a bit worried after seeing somthing on the tv saying 180 a month fines.

as long as your returns are lodged by a tax agent you wont get fined.

I did 2 last year with no fine.

haha I love the way the ATO doesnt really contact you if they owe you any cash, but if you owe tax, the millisecond your payment is late you just about have SWAT knocking your door down !!

heheh I have a 500$ bill from last years tax, havent heard anything about it

hopefully this years return will pay it off!

They will hit you with a whopping interest charge though
