Cabinet Makers / Kitchen Dudes Etc?

all right guys ive finally succumbed to the missus and agreed to redo the kitchen so I need some contacts??

anyone here from Perth and a cabinet maker/work in a kitchen company/ recommend a kitchen company to get a quote from?? we've had a couple of quotes and to say inflated is an understatement !!

wont be anything too fancy, about 3-4 sets of 800mm cupboards with 1 corner cupboard, 1 oven unit, and 1 set of 750mm wide cutlery drawers with soft shut things or something..

Will need all carcasses/doors and stone benchtops..

I can arrange the benchtops if need be and will gladly pay cash straight into someones pocket rather than the ATO bitches

hey mate, yeh blum metabox and blum tandembox ring a bell - I think that's the type of drawers etc they've quoted us on..

I think the problem over here is that we are still in a boom and the kitchen reno companies are all flat out and can charge what they want - quite a few even said no one can even come out for a measure up til Nov/Dec or even Jan/Feb, then another 3 months til it can be installed !!

make sure you get plenty of quotes. I want to leading kitchen company in sydney and they quoted me 28,000 and I said gee that's a bit steep, the guy quoting took one breath then quoted me 25,000! I told him he had no chance getting my business seeing that he was prepared too try and screw me for 3,000 minimum just like that. End of story is I was able to get whole kitchen done for 13,000.

Along with the bathroom its the most expensive room in the house so be prepared to shell out. And yes blum is good gear.

yeh apart from our HT room haha!!!

nah I dont mind spending the bucks to get a quality product but half the time it seems very overpriced !!!!

yes blum metabox are good / blum tamden box with inserts can add about 2-3 grand alone great gear gas closing devices . boom time here having a small breather . we manufactured & installed some kitchens in sydney while the 2000 olympics were on . they were charging huge marks up . what style of kitchen is yours . gallery or u shaped . got some friends in wa , maybe only maybe may be able to come for a driveeeeeeee . my new ute should get me there pretty qik . just about to fit some gear off old ute should give 317 rwkw . fun to be haddddd

nice kitchens there mate!

Our kithen is a basic U shaped one, no overheads or pantry doors or anything and the average quote for the following has been around $8-10k ;

starting from furthest left of U and heading clockwise.

1 x 800mm cupboard

1 bank 3 x 750mm drawers with soft close.

1 x dishwasher recess

1 x bin recess

1 x 45mm x 45mm corner unit no lazy susans etc

1 x 750mm cupboard

1 x 750mm cupboard with sink recess

1 x oven unit @ 45deg angle

1 bank 3 x 900mm drawers no soft close @ 45deg angle to complete U shape

style 1 gloss doors.. it averages out at about $1000 per unit which I cant see justified anywhere !!! This is also no benchtops either, they've ranged from $3600-9000 for 20mm solid granite, to 40mm engineered with downturns etc
