First of all G,day to everyone, and congrats on a great site!

I have recently been looking @ getting a 2003 auto xr6T, But the car im looking @ has 141xxx on the clock, and im not sure of the longevity of these engines ect, I spose im asking if this is alot of kays for these motors? The car has been serviced and maintained and seems to drive great with plenty of toe still left in it, but I want to know if the motor will be friendly to mods I.e bigger cooler , a bit more boost and a tune ect? or with these kays am I asking for trouble? Any advice would be great!

It is a bit high compared to the average kms per year, but if the car has been serviced regularly and looked after it shoudl have any major problems apart from the normal wear and tear cars get.

As far as mods go, it depends on how far you want to push it. The valve springs probably won't hold much more than stock boost becasue of their age. The BA engines are at risk once pushed past 300rwkw too, the auto box won't like this sort of power either, but the tuner can try and give it some longevity.

If the car feels good and is a bargain, go for it! With the money you save you can do a few mods that will make the car more fun and reliable to drive!

The cars interior is very clean and well kept (wich can be a good sign for a used car) and overall the car feels great on the road, im in the middle of getting finance approved, so I know this post is a little premature, but it cant hurt to hope!_

Also on a side note when I took the car back to the yard I popped the hood and the car had a rather annoying ticking sound coming from the injectors, but the guy @ the yard said this is the multipoint injection system, and that it will tick like that if your giving the car a hard time (wich I was getting up it in the test drive) but is this true or does it sound like a fualty injector?

G'day to all. Mine is a 2004 BA Mk1 First registered Aug 2004. Has got 180,000 on the clock, and NEVER missed a beat, and goes like a ROCKET. It's bog standard, except all 6 front lights are fitted with HID's, and it's IMMACULATE in every respect. I live at Tamworth, and work all over the North-West, New England, and Hunter Valley. Most runs are 3-400 klm per day. 90% are highway klms. Mine looks, feels and drives like new. Always serviced on the dot, new plugs every 60k, feed it the "good oil", wash it regular, polish it when needed. Gets 9.8 - 10.2 L/P/100klm if driven on cruise at 100-110KPH. If I stick it up her, (120-150 KPH while the cops are still in bed) then it blows out to around the 13.5-15 L*/P/100klm. Runs OK on regular unleaded, likes V-Max better, and Loooooves Vortex best of all. Is on set of tyres #5, just spend $600.00 on ball joints and bushes, and will soon need a seal in P/S pump, and that's been the HONEST sum total spent, apart from regular type stuff. Honest opinion,,,,, If I was another person, and looking at my car with view to purchasing, and I knew the true history of ownership etc etc, then a few laps around the block, and a burst or 3 on the highway to feel the surg under foot, and the sinking into the seats, and I'd buy it in a flash. I've looked at the FG turbo, and just can't come to grips with that "Sh*tty excuse for green. Gimme ENVI any day. I told the salesman that I'd pay whatever and wait for however long, if they could build me a newie in ENVI. He said ,,,, No can do. So looks like I'm gunna drive this old girl into TAXI type miles, and I reckon that it's not even reach it's halfway in life yet. Should hit 400k no wuckers.

Hi all.

New to this site and the wonderful of XR6 Turbo! Been in Oz for 3 months now and a British Racing Green, 6 speed man. has caught my eye! It has 120-oddk on the clock and is a BF 2006 model. Full history ex-fleet vehicle. Looks very clean. Dealer wants 26 000.00. I think it's a good buy. First mod: kill the odometer for 3 years at least. Who and where can this be done? Is this illegal? Bad idea? Checked on the site but came accross no info.

I use the wife's company car more than she does so my T will only be for pleasure!

I've got an 05 BA II XR6T six speed manual, its got 90k on the clock but I've never had a problem with it, always serviced regularly and nothing major gone wrong with it, but I also wanted to know that if I do any major work to it will the motor be able to handle it for long???

Also do the clutches on these hold up very well or should I look at getting a new one?

Only has a bigger front mount atm :B): but hopefully will get more done in time with a bit more $$$
