Wright'y Member 226 Member For: 21y 30d Gender: Male Location: Darwin, NT Posted 12/07/07 10:31 AM Share Posted 12/07/07 10:31 AM Ive always loved falcons, all of them, every series, they were getting better in looks, performance and quality every year. IMOWhen the BA XR6 Turbo came out I was hooked and had my heart set on buying one as soon as I could. But when I saw pictures of the new model (2008), It didnt interested me the slighest bit, infact it dissaponited me.Im scared Ford are going to in the wrong direction with the looks and design of these cars.Soon the falcons are going to turn into a bloody jap/uro car, and ruine all the hardernd years of history/racing and culture as been a Aussie built performance/mucle car. Also loose alot of fans and buyers. Like the Expensive Daewoo commondore, it lost alot of its diehard fans just because it looks like a astra.I wish somehow the new models are stoped from being released cos at the moment Im not looking forward to the the new model and alot of other people I know dont either. Also what will happen to this site and culture of fans, will it turn into a VL Turbo type of club?( fanatics of this model)If they are going to stop making the turbo falcon it might be, we are going to loose a big percentage of members, plus the strong modifying scene is goning to stop growing. Therefore when the new model comes out not many people will buy the falcon to play/modify with (except the V8), they will probly go and buy holdens. Good one Ford, thanks alot. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/36580-v6-for-falcon/page/2/#findComment-554382 Share on other sites

Lets just hope that the new engine will have plenty of potential for power to be unleashed and that they offer some sort of forced induction on the new motor for the die hard ford fans. It will be a sad day indeed Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/36580-v6-for-falcon/page/2/#findComment-554394 Share on other sites

BMW can get a lazy 225kW, 400Nm from the 3.0l six, so a turbo 3.5l could easily be tuned to get similar if not better numbers than the I6, after all the NA I6 power is still very low by modern standards; most Jap and Euro makes can 190-200kW+ from 3.0-3.5l. New motor won't be as torquey, but it'll rev heaps harder. Maybe this will be further incentive to reduce the size and weight of the Falcon barge. Afterall Mazda has stated weight reduction is high priority going forward. The new Mazda 2 is over 100kg than the old model and expect reductions on the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6. Ford must follow their lead. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/36580-v6-for-falcon/page/2/#findComment-554400 Share on other sites
