Also if it was working fine a couple of days ago you might try going to start then accessories then system tools and run system restore to roll back your PC to a few days ago, dont worry you wont lose any data but if you just installed a new program you may need to reinstall it after rolling back.

Else if you still have troubles try running a program called LSPFIX you can get it here - lspfix download or just google for it. Basically it repairs your TCPIP stack or in English it puts your network settings back the way they should be.

run edwido from safe mode..

edwido is a very good spyware killer.

and yes, be smarter in your search for pr0n or free games. :)

or just do system restore from a time when the thing worked properly: ie yesterday,.. The PC will erase everything from the time after the restore point, and it will work again...

(Start,Programs,Accessories,System Tools,System Restore )

No worries but if you still have internet but things are just really slow then most likely your net settings are ok but it wont hurt to run the lspfix it's most likly either a program like a P2P file sharing program where people are uploading music etc from you or your adsl if your using adsl/cable modem is having a dummy spit.

First try powering off your adsl modem for a few min.

Try what BF Turbo recommended and run MSCONFIG then in the general tab just untick load startup items, then reboot your computer it will basically start up without loading anything like antivirus / firewall etc but also not load all the crap like winamp, file sharing programs updaters etc etc. If that works you can then go to the startup tab in msconfig and manually turn on only what you need I.e anti virus etc.

If you suspect spyware / malware etc but nothing is being detected you can run a program called Hijack This, but it's not for novices.
