Hmmmm I just realised when I purchased my car 2nd hand a few months back, I wasnt given a spare set of keys and remote with the car..

Should this be a standard thing that they should have provided? Or is it more a 'courtesy' thing to give someone a spare set of keys.

If they have done nothing wrong, how do I go about getting a spare set?

I've noticed you can buy just the remote off ebay for example and it only costs about $25 (and I can program it for my car myself) - not sure if this is a good price or not..

But then theres still the key which im guessing costs a lot more and must be programed by Ford (probably for a fee too!).

So if anyone can provide some info that would be great.. a spare set of keys is always good to have :P

Yep, remotes can be purchased off Ebay for about $25 - $30, easily programmed by yourself.

Key is a different story altogether, you'll have to find a reputable locksmith to cut if for you (cause if they stuff it up, you'll have to buy another), and get Ford to program the immobiliser to recognise the new key.

If you bought it from a dealer, then I would hit them up for one.

The eBay remote is the cheapest way to get them.

I m fairly sure it tells you in the maual how to add and remove keys from the system. It also tells you how to do the remote. But you need to get a key cut first.
