I am in the progress of my stereo install and I am thinking of getting some rear door pods made up to fit a 6"x9" and a 6/.5", and then cover them with leather to match the seats.Just wondering if anyone has done this and may have some pictures?Kenny Edited 07/07/07 09:00 AM by kenny Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/36476-rear-door-pods/ Share on other sites

May I ask why you wana do this as opposed to changing the rear speakers? They are not good for sound quality due to the soundwaves striking the transmission tunnel.First mod Late model camira owners do for sound quality is to lose the door speakers, and mount them in the parcel shelf. I already have a set of kicker 6" splits in the front doors, pioneer head unit sitting in a mount made to fit the tissue box, 6" jls with inbuilt tweeters on the rear tray and a kicker 12" and clarion 12" in the boot.I've still got a bit of gear left over (400w pioneer 6x9s and a set of rockford 6.5) that I'd like to put in there and the jls on the rear tray are only there b/c I couldnt fit the 6x9s without making an ugly looking mount Dont really want to put 6x9s on the rear shelf as it will look sh*t, id like it to look stock as possible.I'm just trying to figure out my options, I'm thinking maybe some mouints to stick another set of splits in the front doors then.
