im in nsw. and the new rules dont affect me, made it by a month or so. I dont drive fast or do stupid sh*t so unless im doing that then they cant do much. I put insurance through my dad so that makes it a little cheaper. what would u suggest the car is worth?..

They are the same price for insurance, trust me I know. lol

I currently pay 2700$, it will drop by around -400$ when I turn 19, the 8 and the 6T are under the same section in terms of car/power/cost blah blah you get it.

and for your car id reckon maybe 30ish?, depends if its car yard or private.

And I'm positive you wont be able to put it through your dads name, as they have a law for these type of 'high performance cars' that if you are just a nominated driver and it's in your dads name for insurance, when you drive the insurance becomes null/void which is annoying because its around 1400$ more expensive..

But hey if you want a car like this, you just have to live with the costs, as these cars are aimed at older/ more experienced drivers.

yes they are the same. I checked today, I have been looking around and the xr8s are alot cheaper. I can get an 06, xr8, 20000kms 6sman for $30000. which is sorta making me lean more towards that, due to the money I have already lost. atleast it will have more power than wat I have now. I need 30 for my car so ill just wait till I get it.

I do not like buying 2nd hand cars, I dont like not knowing what its been through. use dont think it couldve been thrashed to much in 20000km do you?

Mate Xr8s are made to be driven. Im sure the car will be fine, besides you have warranty, nothing wrong with good ol' ford warranty. lol. Try Just Cars, there extras/ excess is high but my premiums are about 1600 per year(I had only JUST turned 20 when I got it last year, so the price should be similarish providing your history is good), service has been good .

20,000 is sh*t all k's, but then again it's also a fair bit.. if you know what I mean.

My car's only done just over 8000k's now and it's been driven hard pretty much every single one of them.

I guess you will just have to make the judgement yourself when you start looking for an XR8
