So if it is the Fuel pump, are these easy to fit. Or am I best letting my tuner do it. I found this one on Ebay --> HERE

Not easy but not hard - you just have to have the right gear handy. Some points:

1) Avoid soldering or crimping the wires to join the Ford loom into the new Walbro plug. Simply cut the existing wires as close as possible to the old Ford plug (the end that plugs inot the pump), remove the wires from the new Walbro loom and put new connectors onto the Ford harness. Simply insert the new connectors into the Walbro plug. The Walbro connectros are standard Narva connectors. Put simply - change the plug on the existing Ford loom to Ford one end and Walbro the other!

2) You MUST MUST MUST MUST have Gates submersible fuel hose ($30 trade price from Repco) at the ready. A little bit of trial and error witht he correct length of fuel hose and that's about it.

If you want more of a technical write up let me know.

One last thing - sedan = easy, ute = hard (apparently you have to drop the tank in the ute - sedan is under back seat).

Is there any chance that it could be a dodgy cat?

nope, no chance of it being the cat :bangcomputer:

F6 if it were the coils would it feel somewhat like a cylinder misfire, hence the change in exhaust note?

Get your coils tested. Three of mine were stuffed at 17,000kms. It will display those symptoms - especially under load.

Will the ecu throw fault codes for this as my Supercharged XR8 ute is now playing up again and not sure what it is?

I thought it was voltage clamps set wrong with the RDP Computer but I dont think so now and it only cut out at 4000rpm in 3rd gear not in 1st or 2nd!

The only fault codes are o2 sensors being rich and this has never caused it to act up before?

Okay just an update on this problem. The car has been running fine for 3/4 of a tank. And the symptoms I explained above started coming back approching 1/4 tank left.

so is this a fuel pump symptom? I'm just confused as to why its started now and why it only happens when fuel is low.

I can remember driving the car on many ocassions till empty with no problem?

I am waiting for my Walbro to arrive. just not sure if I'm confident to fit it. without any side affects after

Okay ignore the above. Filled the tank up and it is still doing it. I am now also getting a short quick whine noise in the lower gears. E.g when taking off and from 2500-4000?? It sounds like it is coming from behind me when driving

Any suggestions on this problem.
