Has anyone had any work done to theres to make it up to 300kws. Its just Ive herd that if you do that everything else in the car brakes cause its not built for that much more power.Katie

Post up some pics when you get a chance. As for getting 300rwkw, as above, it's pretty easy these days. Just do a search and you will find a wealth of information on modifications etc

The manual 5sp will definitely not cope, and auto 4sp models need mods to trans for some reliability. If you have a 6sp manual or auto, they are better at coping with the higher output, although the clutch in the 6sp manual may need to be swapped for something with a bit more grip. The torque output with increased boost in these XR6T's is phenomenal, and that is what causes the issues. You could request a tune which limits the torque (less boost at lower rpm) whilst still producing a decent peak power.... and that will reduce the strain on your driveline, but it will also reduce the "seat of the pants" accelleration that can be achieved by having a well sorted and modified driveline and full boost across the rpm range. It really depends on how much you are prepared to pay for reliability with high torque output.I have several tunes for my ute, including a race tune of over 300 rwkw. I find it's too much for the street though.... can not get grip without race rubber on rear and it is hard on the gearbox. I have had 2 gearbox rebuilds so far... 2003 BA, 4sp auto. For everyday use, I am more than satisfied with my street tune which has ~ 260 rwkw. It's enough to keep a smile on my dial and keep those pesky lion cubs at bay. cheerstom

I have a mk11 6 speed manual.. put a malwood 11inch massive clutch on it.. holds like a rock and is softer than standard clutch on pedal side of things. that gave me 325rwkws tuned at only 14psi. but last night my dif shattered internaly.. lost all drive, maybe time for a stronger diff rebuild and hopefully will be right for a while.I also have an external wastegate, fuel pump but you dont need them there more safety items. they will come into a bit more play when I get my cooler. custom air intake.. hello 370rwkw enjoy the car.. they are awesome fun..specially when your way infront of a 6.0l clubsport r8

I have had an XR6 Turbo 6spd manual for about 4 weeks now and have already modded it by visiting Autotech Engineering in Sydney and adding a Phase 2+3 kit and Brembos etc and am now putting out 332RWKW so check around yes there is a lot that can be done, as mine is a brand new car we left it at 332rwkw but as it ages a bit we will work it some more.PS would love to see some photos

As in engine KW.Katie, it's VERY easy to get this much power, It's also VERY easy to get more.Your car will handle that much power easily, just make sure you can. Years and K's getting up there as well so keep it in mind with your mods, but you wont have warranty issues I imagine. Listen to the posts above they speak from very good experience.I think you also mean 300engine Kw, which is a very good first step over the standard 240engine Kw. I think EDIT is the first step on these cars and makes a hell of a difference for its price. Most ppl on here talk rear wheel KW which is much different to engine Kw.
