My car has the same problem, got it fixed under warranty... but barely lasted a fortnight, tried to repair it under warranty again and it didn't last so I just gave up. I have just learned to feed it back in every time I unbuckle the seatbelt - I admit it can really get annoying. had the same problem with my handbrake cover coming off all the time. when that was fixed under warranty they just sikaflexed it and it came straight apart again when it was out of warranty with black :Welcome2FordXR6t: inside the cover. Grrrr. But I have noticed that it only seems to be the front seat belts that have the problem - perhaps overuse?

Sounds like either the retract mechanism (spool) is dirty and needs a clean and lube or the spring within it has become weak/broken. That's probably why cleaning the belt doesn't work satisfactorily??????????

On the subject of the parts prices:

Ford parts have definitely increased in price but so has the quality. The prices still hurt but not as much as...............

Try pricing parts for some other brands ie Japanese, Korean. A few examples are the main window switch block for a Landcruiser $400ea, a single injector for a Toyota direct injection diesel $2000 (that's EACH) etc etc. The Korean parts are even dearer!

Hmmm, let me think........a Camry with dear parts prices or an XR6T with less insane prices. The first one would leave me dead from boooooredom, socially embarrassed and broke.

As for AC's BA with the Sikaflex in the handbrake cable cover; what a p*ss poor attempt at customer service. They should hang their heads in shame. We can only hope that someone returns

them the favour.
