Anyway I think turning off the ignition might not be the best way to slow down... coz you'll lose brakes as well... yeah you'll come to a stop... eventually... might be best to ease on the brakes then at a slow speed maybe turn off the ignition then roll to a stop...... otherwise just pray that it doesn't happen again! Guest Guests Posted 02/07/07 01:14 PM Share Posted 02/07/07 01:14 PM I've had this happen and its f*$cking scary.was driving over the narrows bridge on the kwinana freeway, mate in ss ute next to me so I gave it a bit, took my foot off the gas and it kept going, peddle stuck to the floor. Shot down the bus lane to miss the car in front at about about 120 and rising fast in an 80 zone, both feet on the brakes abs making really bad sounds. was about to put in nuetral (auto) and huge clunk sound as the peddle came back up. hole thing went for about 4-5 seconds. pulled back into normal traffic lane and loads of people gave me the bird. I dont have floor mats so might have been caought on the capret but it worked fine after, took it to ford that afternoon and they couldn't find anything wrong. jet_paul Member 56 Member For: 18y 1m 14d Posted 04/07/07 05:54 PM Share Posted 04/07/07 05:54 PM this has happened to me in my 2007 bf mk2 aswell. Twice actually. The first time I was doing a bit of a skid and it just continued to rev.. so I imediately broke and put the car to neutral and the revs instantly dropped to 4 but were still constant. I then turned the car off and turned it back on and started to rev up to neutral limit again.... what is going on I thought..I then knoticed the pedal was stuck - like caught in a pedal groove on the floor??? ... I had to yank it out with a fair bit of force... very scary.other time I was on a frankston fwy doing about 80 and the pedal became stuck again when I gave it flat stick.. this time I was able to flick the pedal up with my toe.. lucky. If they get 100 people with this complaint there will be some action to get it rectifiedd.this sort of shiat can end up really badly

They give you those screw things for a reason!
