Posted 02/07/07 09:24 AM Share Posted 02/07/07 09:24 AM Hey Guys!I was driving my car (ba xr6t mk11 auto) on sunday and thought I would give a bit of a squirt. Was doing about 50kph at the time then punched it to 100kph then took my foot off the accelerator but the pedal didnt come up!!! I got on the brakes and pumped the pedal and it eventually came back. By that time I was doing about 140kph. Luckily I had plenty of room to slow down that time, but dont really want it to happen again!! I checked that theres nothing for it to get caught on like floor mat etc.Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone have an idea as to what might be the problem?????? Thanks in advance

Maybe a dodgy TPS ( throttle position sensor) being a fly by wire throttle set up.Sorry not much help really

You will lose power steering but its better than plowing into the back of some one.

ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! I have had it before and it was the mat.If not I would put your head under the drivers footwell and make sure no wiring or anything is fouling the linkages. It is not something you want to experience again.
