Considering al the money and interest in getting the biggest amound of torque and power one would think that an equivalent desire would carry through to how all of that engineering is transmitted to the road via about 20 square inches of contact. Don't cut corners on your tyre choice, don't buy enormous rims which you cannot afford to fit with half decent tyres; it doesn't make any sense as it's through those tyres that you accelerate, brake and turn. For the best combo of price and performance I'd go either PP2s or Advans.

great referance there.

Only problem being is the person who started the thread is using the same tyre's as me and having the same problem, (My T has 275+rwkw).

They are 19's and I had a quick look through that link and it seems no one does a 265x30x19.

I have been in search for a while now for a good tyre in this size and havn't found a resonable one yet.

Quoted $750 for Brig F1's per tyre.

Another person has said the Michelin PS2 are like $1000 per tyre.

Others are around the $500 to $600 each but Iam not to sure about there quality.

All these people on here who have quoted price's for there recommendation have they been for the 265x30x19?

Iam starting to think that maybe I should gone with 18's as there is so much more available and the price seems to be a lot cheaper.

Is anyone on here who can point me and the thread starter to a decent tyre in 265x30x19 and where to purchase from would be of great help. (Iam in QLD Bris South East)

I have also been thinking of using either a E-Boost 2 or HKS alternative to control lower gear boost to help with traction.

Can anyone tell me if this can be acheived through the Capa Flash tuner without affecting higher boost in higher gears.

try bob jane. I got a quote from bob jane beenleigh 265x30 19 yoko advan for 550 a tyre. sounds good. reputable tyre co and their top of the line tyre. when I get my car fixed, that's what I'm getting. I have hankook k104's and I think they are crap. especially with these cars, its the tyres that'll probably save you.

at the end of the autospeed article there is some links to certain aussie shops that specialize in high performance semi slick and race tyres etc... the dont have any prices on their site, but they do have sizes and compounds etc... id give them a phone call and ask them what they can get.

Its true though, your choices are very limited in 19", which is why im sticking to 18", just need some WIDER rims...

thanks that more like the info we need.

I have actually bought a pair of these for the front in 235x35x19 for the front, got them new of a guy on ebay for $500 a pair.

The guy also had some 235x35x19 ventra's and these Yoko's where about 15mm+ wider on the tread.

Good to know they are a good tyre.

Those Hankook's was one of the recommendation from one tyre shop, glad I didn't take him up on them, think he had quoted $460 for my rears and $370 fronts.

I may go with the Yoko's but will wait till I hear from some more suggestions before I empty my wallet.

Thanks on your feedback.

I had a mild 351w c4 Td corty I built a few years back, I fitted 008's to it in 225x15's size and it was useless in the wet as you could turn the tyre's till you got off the gas, and the dry was not much chop either.

From them I went to a pair of Maxis in the same size and for a tyre that was a lot cheaper it would turn the wheels till about mid 2nd in the wet and all of a sudden hook up and launch, and they where very good in the dry as well, lasted like over 2 years with everyday driving, I would blip the gas peddle then nail it and it would hook up and go, use to make 2+ car lengths on wrx's, something I was not able to do with the 008's.

I hope I find something that lives up to there grip level and value for my T .

As far as Iam aware Maxis don't do a 265x30x19 according to there catalogue, or I would be purchasing them in hope of the same results.

Even seems as 20's are easier to buy then these bloody 19's.

I'm still running 17's but although there were a lot of quality horror stories about the Dunlop OEM's I actually found mine to have no fault right through to 45,000kms when they were changed out. Wet and dry traction was excellent however they were very noisy and other people had a lot of problems. I hunted high and low with a tight budget and found the Hankook K105 Ventus Prime. If you look up the tyre comparo link previously posted it does rate them highly. I find dry and wet traction very good, low noise and the front end points and responds much better than the Dunlops. Best of all is the price - $180 each but before I get inundated I know a tyre dealer and he lost money on this deal!!
