Guest Guests Posted 03/07/07 12:30 AM Share Posted 03/07/07 12:30 AM thanks that more like the info we need.I have actually bought a pair of these for the front in 235x35x19 for the front, got them new of a guy on ebay for $500 a pair. The guy also had some 235x35x19 ventra's and these Yoko's where about 15mm+ wider on the tread.Good to know they are a good tyre. Those Hankook's was one of the recommendation from one tyre shop, glad I didn't take him up on them, think he had quoted $460 for my rears and $370 fronts.I may go with the Yoko's but will wait till I hear from some more suggestions before I empty my wallet. Thanks on your feedback.I had a mild 351w c4 Td corty I built a few years back, I fitted 008's to it in 225x15's size and it was useless in the wet as you could turn the tyre's till you got off the gas, and the dry was not much chop either. From them I went to a pair of Maxis in the same size and for a tyre that was a lot cheaper it would turn the wheels till about mid 2nd in the wet and all of a sudden hook up and launch, and they where very good in the dry as well, lasted like over 2 years with everyday driving, I would blip the gas peddle then nail it and it would hook up and go, use to make 2+ car lengths on wrx's, something I was not able to do with the 008's.I hope I find something that lives up to there grip level and value for my T .As far as Iam aware Maxis don't do a 265x30x19 according to there catalogue, or I would be purchasing them in hope of the same results. Even seems as 20's are easier to buy then these bloody 19's.The yoko's are a great tire, they come highly reccomended by the guys who race in the dutton ralley. I'm waiting on a set to come in atm as they are still on the warf, just need to makesure they fit under the gaurds. If there good enough for porschs and the liks they should be good enough for a T. While its only stock I've done a few MC / AHG long track days and they have proven themselves to be ok (for the power levels). BUT that said, when its time for a change (ie more power, better brakes and suspension gear) I'll go something much grippier (what, im not sure)Can the standard rims fit any wider than 235's? or do I have to upgrade rims? Some nice simmons would be nice though..I thought the standard dunlop3000a were ok until 230rwkw turned into 310rwkw. Now they are rubbish. Does anyone know for the same tyre does 17 or 18 make a difference to straightline grip?

It felt so much grippier. Now that im running 10psi the feels are extremely slippery at the rears when using 1st and second gear with a bit of 'spirit' and you can feel 3rd gear wanting to slip at times.Im in the market for some decent 19" rears to put on, and I'll leave the K104's on the front as they have never understeered or given way up front at all.I'll be watching this thread with great interest too
SDWAYZ Member 103 Member For: 18y 5m 19d Posted 17/08/07 11:52 PM Share Posted 17/08/07 11:52 PM I stuck with 17" wheels. 17x8 front, 17x9 rear. Federal tyres are great. Good rim protector, nice square shoulder with wide contact patch and good prices too. I run 255 on the rear now with quite a big offset, (forged 3 piece rims were scrounged from a 300ZX TT with 350+ rwkw for $400.00!) and I like it. I have rolled on 19" rims before but I like the 17" handling and shock absorbtion on the streets better. Suits my driving more. Compound gets pretty important I would imagine as the sidewall profile decreases. that's when the dollars go up. Nankang are good for cheap thrills and lots of trigonometry down the street though
