A MAN is clinging to life after a car he was travelling in skidded across an intersection and struck a petrol bowser in Melbourne's south-east.

The man was one of four men travelling in a Ford Turbo along Westall Road, Clayton, when the driver lost control about 1.40am (AEST).

The north-bound car went sideways across the Princes Highway intersection, hit a pole and flipped, then struck a petrol bowser at a service station on the corner.

The bowser ignited, but a truck driver on the scene quickly extinguished the flames.

The injured man, a back-seat passenger, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

A second passenger and the 24-year-old driver were taken to hospital with injuries.

The third passenger fled, but police found him hiding behind a large bin in a nearby street.

All four men are believed to be aged in their early to mid-20s.

The Major Collision Investigation Unit will examine the crash scene.

Its unfortunate however, its the only way Wannabe heroes in front of mates will bloody learn!!!

Its a sickening feeling, but be prepared suffer the consequences if your breaking the

rules! SIMPLE! :nono:

There was another incident I witnessed (a p plater in a N/A), trying to be a hero near my house when he lost control of his vehicle and just missed a resident's house!!!

Believe me, he was shaken, and I did feel sorry for him, but lets hope he learnt from that and realises what can happen if u break the road laws!! :spoton: !!

San.
