not going to go through insurance to get this fixed. prolly cost the same as the excess.

I do have a few question though.

1. If you stand on the brakes, does the ABS kick in?

2. If you are sideways, does ABS work?

Cheers

I doesnt look like it makes much difference in the wet OUCH

I would get a quote on the damage before deciding not to use insurance

ABS should work, no matter what, unless you were sideways enough so the wheels were not really spinning anyway.

By the way, you were lucky, you should see mine, similar sort of scenario, hit a curb then a power poll but with MUCH more force. just received a call from the insurance company, a bit under $10k of gamages

I was just going to take it to the local bloke that has fixed all our f'k ups. he is the suncorp recommended insurer. im with just cars at the moment becuase suncorp wont cover me (<25, turbo)

I think the front RH steering is f'd so I don't really want to try and drive it around for quotes. Just want to tow it to one bloke and get him to fix it.

Yeah it works but ABS ain't that grand in the wet anyway, same as T/C. Best bet is just be careful with ya right foot. Mine stepped out savage in the dry on the weekend (my fault) after a sh*t load of trying to correct (by keepin the boot in) I ended up about a foot from one of those steel armco gaurds. If I was is the wet

oh I see. probably sideways enough and the wheels were sliding not skidding. oh well

I do consider myself pretty lucky. there really isn't that much damage.

just a pain in the ass to get it all fixed now. I'll have to drive the camry..

I have stood on the brakes in a downpour and was amazed that the abs didnt lock the wheel once and slowed the car , preventing an immenent crash on the Gold Coast last year when a f*cktard pulled out in front of me.

My passenger said one word

F U C K !!!!! - those brakes are insane!!!!
