500+ rwkw - now this is just plain stupid and dangerous. Good fun but!!!!!!!

Sounds a bit like the spacer between the driver's seat and the steering wheel! :roflmbo:

Craiginmackay: Keep in mind also that 300kw in a ute is a totally different beast compared to the same output in a sedan.

How so? The ute weighs more ( about 50kg I believe) and the BFII has traction control fitted, unlike the BA utes. So is it really that much different other than no IRS? I welcome your thoughts on the subject.

I use the missus/mum rule.

If they can't jump in the car, turn the key, and reliably drive to Sydney/coast/wherever, then the car has gone past its ideal means.

As long as the ABS works, T/C works, no problem with start up sequence, then the car is still able to be driven on the street and enjoyed by most.

If T/C no longer works, no ABS/SRS etc, or you have to be there so they remember to prime the pumps before turning over, then that's when the car is no longer ideal.

My perfect example of all this is 2 of my cars. My XR6T is still easily able to be driven by my missus or mum if necessary, where my XC can not. The XC requires full pressure at the rails before cranking, and needs to be fully warmed up so the computer goes off cold start map.

XR6T makes 295 at treads, XC makes 439.

I run a daily tune of 380rwkw, though the ute can make way over 400 + but A the auto won't take it day in day out. B it would not be usable on the street at all.

Mine is a BA MK1 so no traction control or anything like that. My number 1 rule is to always drive it in manual mode so that it can't kick down on me when I don't expect it! I can't give it wot in 1st and 2nd really but if I drive it with some respect it is still a nice drive.

My street tune is more linear with the power delivery too which helps.

Weighs more but is 'lighter' in the arse end if that makes any sense.

In standard form they can get messy real quick in the wet....traction control does very little to restrain the sideways movement
