It should be done gradually on the dyno...makes absolutely no sense! - The whole object of putting anything on a accelerometer type dyno (like this one and most used commonly around the world) is to measure the accelleration of the dyno's rotating mass and covert that to kw's. You have to accelerate as fast as possible to measure the maximum kw's!!!! - otherwise don't bother.

Go to fast, you end up pushing the dyno ahead of the actual peak power (too big a push), giving you a false peak reading. Get on an excersise bike and peadle like crazy, then see how long it takes for the bike to cycle down back to your normal speed.

It should be done gradually on the dynoComing from someone who has used a dyno, in this particular case, a Dyno DynamicsYou accelerate to WOT under "Ramp Hold" conditions. it doesnt matter if you do it slow or fast, the engine will only load upto say approx 2400rpm and stay there.. the dyno will hold the current wheel speed.this is the point where you start to hear the xr6t turbos start to spool up.. because its almost like going WOT with the brake and handbrake on holding it at like 70km/hafter the RPM stablises, you select "ramp up", in which the dyno will allow the speed to increase (in which, the RPM increases)once you reach RPM limit, or power drops of, or whatever, you then put it back to "ramp hold", and miliseconds afterwards, you get off the gas pedal.. (if you get off the pedal before you engage ramp hold, the graph draws back over itself)danny
