sh*t I wana see some back to back results.. hurry up adam!

well we cant do back to back results without further mods (injectors), rendering the back to back comparison kinda pointless... if we had injectors, we would have got to the next power limiting restriction in the cat, then the zorst, then the fuel pump and so on and so on... my car will go on the dyno soon (without a tune) but mine will also have a 4inch exhaust fitted. lets see how much power we will get on minimal boost shall we?

but its safe to say that the kit works... and as others have said, there is no point putting this kit on (besides great bling factor) unless your gonna get rid of the other restrictions first, as you wont see its full potential...

gees, hold up guys!

custom tune is coming, nut we have stuff to do first, including fitting the larger injectors and a bunch more other stuff... all we wanted to do was see how much dif this kit made ALONE...

monster in the making...

I hear ya, but its a big risk to take, outweigh curiosity vs your motor. I would have fitted the injectors pulled boost down to your previous levels of 8 and 10psi, not played with the timing, but it would have allowed the car to run a safe and give a better indication of the difference. Personally I am suprised you didn't lunch a motor @ 14.5:1 afr's at 4500 rpm. Shows how durability of these motors. But seeing as the motor did lean out to such a level shows that your boost would have peaked higher than what you saw previously with the generic tune of 10psi, which is to be expected after freeing the inlet up like that, giving you a well false indication on the difference. Did you log the boost that the car was reaching, if so what was it? Just by going from your above post it sounds like there was no adjustments made to the tune.

From what I can tell it has a CV generic tune, so it wont go into limp mode.

Its no longer running the factory tune.

So let me ask you this, If you want to clean/inspect the air filter do you have to take off the front bar??? Or can you get access to by taking off some of the plastic covers in the wheel arch and under the bar??

ok @ fat tony- we ran up the 8psi tune, no worries. next, Flashed the 10psi, all was good until suddenly it jumped 14.5 very quickly, so shut down. Why didnt we put in the injectors? because our dyno shop cant tune capa boxes! our tuner is 800km`s away and we will be going there as soon as we have finished building the car, so we only drive 800kms once. Now do you see our dilema? we didnt risk the engine at all by only driving it off boost as we knew it would do this... now we know the 8psi is ok, we can fang around on that tune until we get custom tuned, which is when the injectors will go in.

after we do the 4inch zorst and 044 fuel pump (next mod), we will probably have to drive on the valet tune to visit out tuner, as all others will be unsafe, and the factory tune may go into limp mode...stangely enough, it didnt go into limp mode on the factory tune with just this kit fitted??? I cant remember if we revved it right out though...

to get to the pod filter now, all you have to do is remove the splash guard under the front bumper, stick you hand up and loosen the hose clamp, filter off... so you dont need to remove the bar itself...
