Hi Guys,

I have an intermittent problem when I unlock the car, start the car, the alarm goes off and cant be stopped until the cycle ends about 20 sec. If I turn the car off, then start it again all is good. Then I turn it off and start it again then the alarm goes off and so on.

Apparently you can recode your alarm pads by pushing certain buttons in the car.

E.g. In an AU you turn the car to accessories and press the rear demist button 3 times within 5 sec and the central locking will activate. Then press any button on the alarm key pad and it has been recoded.

Has anyone had this happen to then and know the fix.

Cheers,

Greg.

Sounds like the cheapest and crappiest alarm that the dealer has stiffed you with and claimed it to be a genuine Ford must have.

Rip it out and get a quality alarm. One that sends you a text message these days are pretty good.

Sorry I cant help.

Hi there,

You will find your car Battery is on the way out. Mine did the same thing last year. As you crank your car the voltage drop to low and your alarm will go off.

Change your battery and all will be good.

Cheers

I am 100% with XRT330.

My car was doing this only 2 months back. I didn't think it was the battery on it's way out as the car didn't have any trouble turning over .

My battery was in the car from new in June 2004.

Cheers,

Ross

My factory alarm does this about once a month.

Get in and start the car and the alarm goes off. I need to turn the car off and arm/disarm the alarm with the keyfob about 5 times and it is all good again.

Thanks guys for your input. I suspected the battery myself but since the car started fine and never not started I thought it mightn't be it. About 6 months ago I left the car unattended with the lights and radio on and about 20 min the alarm was going off and the battery was flat. Let sit for 10 min and car would then start so I total agree...it's the battery. Off I go and get a new one.

Cheers,

Greg.
