Yeah its a big drive and the best roads are on the first leg as well.

I had a look on Google earth and according to that (by zooming in on the satalite image) it dose look sealed so that is all I can say about it because I have not driven the long way I always back track on myself

Pretty sure that road isn't sealed Gaz. The back way from Berri Springs is dirt.

Go in the clockwise direction, check out the termite mounds and Florence Falls on the way to your stop.

I'd recommend heading down the Arnhem Hwy to the Adelaide River and going on one of the croc tours.

Check out the Mindal Beach markets and Stokes Hill Wharf in the evening if you have time.

Thinking of driving through the Kakadu area - is it worth it or is it over-crowded I.e full of bus loads of tourist everywhere?

Adelaide River croc tour sounds alright - have a Saturday day there. Definitely thinking of doing the Lichfield falls cos am told it's the crazy season there right now where humidity is really high just before the monsoon rains start and a swim sounds like an appealing way to keep cool - just not sure if it is safe to swim if the salties are in the area?

No salties in that area this time of year Gaz and none at the Rockhole anytime due to them not being able to get passed the waterfalls.

You won't need a day for the croc cruise. It's about an hour from Darwin and goes for about an hour.

The scenery along the roads to and through Kakadu is pretty boring. There's interesting places along the way that you can go to, but just driving through is a waste of time as you won't see much.

Oh, humidity isn't too bad this time of year. It has started to increase, but it's not at its worst just yet.

Yeah also discussed with my mate Bernie and I think I'll spend a lazy day driving Litchfield NP, go for a swim and maybe do the croc tour at Adelaide River. Might drive into Kakadu to say I've been there :roflmbo::thumbsup:

Looking good Gaz!

Pretty incredible to see the size difference between the female and male crocs isn't it?

Especially the whoosh noise as the gaping mouth closes. Some of them are fast as - like a whip lash when they want to grab that piece of meat dangling down :omg:
