Dave at Hi-Tech was calling my mate with the tt calais v6 constantly because he couldnt figure a few things out on the the tune that ended up being the use of very old software not giving access to some of the calibrations available on his ECU... just didnt have the professionalism you would expect of someone your handing over your hard earned to and trusting the safety of your engine. If I was in Darwin I would offer to run this section, but from Katherine I doubt I would be organising many cruises... maybe a cruise from Woolies to errr... around the block and back to Woolies. I shouldn't have to go to far over my budget to get a twin plate clutch from herrod put in aswell. Talked to a guy from Rev It Up on the phone today they can fit everything and send the tune box off to herrod, but will this mean they'd be generic tunes even if they ask for what Injectors and stuff I'm running? if they will be, I'll prob take my car to Pecky's. Got to love Katherine, it thinks it's New York.Mate before the speed limits came in what was your record time to Darwin?

I don't think Herrod will sell through Rev it up. Just so you know Mick sold Rev it up butstill works there. Doug get a flash tuner 3, they are adjustable. Just tell Rob what you have and he can sort something out for you.Bob does fit his own stuff now, he had a FG xr8 up doing the clutch the other week. devo Member 64 Member For: 16y 11m 22d Posted 21/05/09 04:46 AM Share Posted 21/05/09 04:46 AM they would be basically a customised generic, ignore that fact that's oxy-moron. Without having your exact car on a dyno the tune will never be 100% perfect for you car, as they need to tune basically for worst case scenarios, so not too much timing, not too much boost as some engines deal with it better than others and they have to assume yours would be a worst case engine so they dont tune it too strong and you end up popping a motor. Always get your car dyno tuned if its at all possible
devo Member 64 Member For: 16y 11m 22d Posted 21/05/09 05:17 AM Share Posted 21/05/09 05:17 AM Mate before the speed limits came in what was your record time to Darwin?I moved here after the speed limits, but made a few minutes past 2 hours to the the right hand bend/traffic lights where the palmerston turn off is in my old 6ltr ss ute... not bad considering I still did the speed limits in pine creek and adelaide river. In the turbo I havent raced up because I usually have a car full of passengers and I wouldnt ever drive that fast with other peoples lives in my hands. I asked him on the phone and said they end up taking a lot of sh*t of cars because they can't tune the car right or something along those lines anyway. Will have another chat with him when I get back to darwin and see what he says but if he can't, only option is to talk to Hi-Tech or Peckys to get a custom tune done. How much are the flash tuner 3s? I will most likely get clutch done when I get back they are $1800 for twin plate at Concept Cars like you said before.

New oil only done 2400km Doug, I'll talk to rob herrod if your interested and see what he can do with a tune. But the tune you have will be fine with some octane booster. Don't get carried away Darwin is a harsh area on cars.Pinging is your enemy.I'll give you a hand with this intercooler kit and the rest of the crap you brought, sounds like some fun.At the end of the day we can only tell you what we know, it's your decision.
