I want to do it for $4000 (Ive been watching monster garage). There is a few choices to make and Im looking for advice. Firstly Do I use a Blow through Carby or buy a haltec and use injection? Is it worth getting an S model XF for the suspension? If I make between 250 and 300RWKW in this XF do I need to beef the breaks up. Was there an XF that had better breaks?how much power does the 4sp single rail handel or do I use a C4Auto?Do you think I can get between 250 and 300RWKW for $4000. If so what parts list would you choose? Also I want it built before next power cruise at eastern creek. Im open for donations and sponsorship.MG

Guest Guests Posted 19/06/07 01:36 AM Share Posted 19/06/07 01:36 AM There's a stat writeoff xr6 t at the auctions next week with a nizpro kit fitted, decent wheels to. Would make for an excellent donar car, should go for around the 1ok mark. Keep the engine and trans then part out the rest and it'll owe you bugger all. I doubt very much that you could build a turbo XF for $4K, especially not one with 250-300rwkw.
Guest Guests Posted 19/06/07 11:23 AM Share Posted 19/06/07 11:23 AM For $4k you'd get more like 150 - 175rwkw. Takes a bit of work/money to get the old crossflow making good numbers

I turboed my ED and spent 10k, and that wasnt even touching the motor itself. Wild ride though, makes my T feel like a volvo lol

This is not a G up either. Maybe the 250 to 300kw was a bit unrealistic too. does an XR6T motor fit in there easily? What computer do I use if I go down this track? I heard that the Ford computer dosnt work if the ICC and all the other stuff from the BA isnt connected up. is this the truth? Is there a way around this??MG
