Hi all, I am new to the forum

I am looking at getting a XR6 T ute with the 6 speed auto. I have been looking at some tuning options from APC in Perth. I am wondering how far we can tune these cars before starting to damage internals & bend rods. I will be using it as a daily driver and like to floor it regularly but only in short bursts. I have been looking at these tune options below, what do you guys think is the best option. Also what sort of problems will I run into with the 370 or 400 kW tune. Any other suggestions appreciated.

240 – 320kW *

SCT Flashtune box – Chassis Dyno Tune

3.5" Turbo dump pipe

High Flowed Metallic Cat Convertor

Twin high flow performance APC Stainless Steel 2.5" exhaust

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

240 – 370kW *

SCT Flashtune box – Chassis Dyno Tune

3.5" Turbo dump pipe

High Flowed Metallic Cat Convertor

Twin high flow performance APC Stainless Steel 2.5" exhaust

Upgraded valve springs and High Flow Injectors

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

240 – 400kW *

OR

Cheers

depends on the wallet.youll save money by going straight to the 400kw kit because you wont need re-tuning as you would if you built up to it.as for engine durability, someone on here had a rod go on a standard engine with just an exhaust, others have got 350+rwkws on standard internals with no problems.go figure.if it were me and dollars permitted, and I had patience,id probably go edit injectors to tide me over then look at strengthening the box and a set of rods.after that's done you could mod to your hearts content and know she'll stand up to it.but I have no patience so id just get the highest power I could afford and if it throws a leg out of bed so be it. :roflmbo:

I would talk to Simon from Xtreme Ford Tuning about a custom tune (edit) before committing to APC as he is "the Ducks Nuts" of tuners in WA in my opinion (I'm sure most, if not all, on this site from WA will tell you the same too).

His car is an absolute beast which goes to show that he knows what he's talking about and has the proof to back it up. Nice guy too.

If you can find it then check out the vid on another posting from the latest Dyno day

Xtreme are a site sponsor and all his details are listed

Once again
